Adult Psychiatrist in New York City
I'm a board-certified psychiatrist practicing in New York City. My approach is grounded in curiosity, non-judgment, and humility as I collaborate with people to help them discover who they are.
I work with a wide range of people: those uncertain of who they are, feeling stuck, or caught in patterns they don't want but can't seem to stop repeating. This might look like longing for love but pulling away when feelings intensify, or judging your own mind so harshly that shame keeps you unknown to yourself.
Though I'm trained in cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, and psychopharmacological treatments, my theoretical orientation is primarily psychodynamic/psychoanalytic. I aim to create an environment that is safe, and with enough consistency to facilitate openness to whatever thoughts and feelings arise. This process helps us see beyond the surface, to understand how your past experiences continue to shape who you are today. In my experience, focusing on the whole person — rather than just symptom reduction or diagnostic labels — helps recontextualize your difficulties as adaptations to old problems; ones that are not as helpful now. This, in turn, loosens stuck patterns and opens the door to greater mental freedom and a richer, more fulfilling life.
