Adult Psychiatrist in New York City

I am a board-certified psychiatrist practicing in New York City. My approach is grounded in curiosity, non-judgment, and humility as I collaborate with individuals to discover themselves.
I work with a wide range of people: those uncertain of who they are, feeling stuck, or repeatedly finding themselves in situations they don't want to be in but can't stop repeating. This might look like longing for love but pulling away when feelings intensify, or living in such harsh judgment of one's own mind that the shame keeps them unknown to themselves.

Though I have training in cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, and psychopharmacological treatments, my theoretical orientation is primarily psychodynamic/psychoanalytic. I aim to create an environment safe and consistent enough to allow openness to whatever thoughts and feelings arise, a process that helps us see beyond the surface, to understand how past experiences continue to shape who someone is. In my experience, this focus on the whole person, rather than on just symptom reduction or diagnostic labels, contextualizes their difficulties as adaptations to old problems that are no longer working. This ultimately helps loosen stuck patterns, bringing greater mental freedom to lead a richer, more fulfilling life.
